Talk to Your PCP About Your Neck Pain

If you’re experiencing neck pain, the first thing you’re likely to do is treat it at home. Should your issue persist, the next logical step is a visit with your primary care physician (PCP).

Your doctor will conduct an exam, ask you key questions, and possibly order additional testing.

From there, should it be necessary, your doctor can also refer you to a specialist. At that point, you’re in the hands of someone who understands what you’re up against and can discuss your many treatment options.

Here’s a testimonial from a recent patient:

After years of suffering with neck pain, I was referred to Dr. Sharma by my PCM. Dr. Sharma recommended a discectomy and fusion. The entire process from getting X-rays, MRI, lab work, and COVID-19 testing was ridiculously easy. I was in and out of each appointment without any delays or difficulties. The surgery has proven an incredible success. I feel so much better just two weeks post-op. Dr. Sharma and his staff have been amazing.

It makes good sense to follow the medical guidance of your PCP. This person is responsible for your health, as a whole, so listen to what they say. If they recommend an appointment with a back or neck specialist, don’t hesitate to take action.
