Desk Yoga Can Help Relieve Back and Leg Pain

Do you find yourself sitting at a desk for several hours each day? Do you struggle with pain and discomfort the longer you remain in the same position? Are you seeking a way to relieve back and leg pain so you can work at peak performance?

Even if your job calls for you to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, it doesn’t mean you have to give in to the pain that it causes. For example, you should take breaks throughout the day to stretch your back and legs. You should also consider the benefits of a standing desk. And along with that, a little bit of desk yoga can go a long way.

You don’t have to go all out. All you need is a few basic exercises to help prevent compression and tightness from occurring.

Start with a simple forward bend stretch by moving toward the end of your chair and placing your feet firmly on the floor and slightly wider than shoulder-width. From there, drop your shoulders and slowly begin to lower your head to the floor. The end result is your shoulders between your knees. This takes the pressure off of the rear section of your spinal discs.

You don’t have to go crazy. Find a few desk yoga exercises that work for you and master them.
