Is Leg Pain Causing You Trouble?

Here’s something interesting to think about: all the ways you use your legs throughout the day.

You stand, walk, jog, run, bike, and climb stairs – and that’s just a few of the most common examples.

Leg pain can set in at any time, thus making it more difficult to enjoy your life. Furthermore, leg pain can also result in trouble with other parts of your body, such as your lower back.

Fortunately, there are some changes you can make to your daily routine to help prevent leg pain:

•    Take regular breaks: For example, if you sit in a desk all day long at work, take a break every 30 minutes or so to stretch.
•    Keep your hips above your knees: When sitting, make it a habit to keep your hips slightly above your knees. Also, keep your feet flat on the floor. Using an ergonomically correct chair will also help.
•    Don’t sit with your legs crossed: You can do this from time to time, but don’t make it your regular seating position. It puts a lot of stress on your joints, which can result in pain both now and later.

Along with the above, a regular exercise routine is paramount to the health of your legs. For instance, if you can take a short walk every day at lunch, it’ll keep your legs feeling fresh (while bringing many other benefits to your life).

There are many causes of leg pain, but it could be something as simple as the way you sit at work. Consider all your options for eliminating leg pain and living a better life as a result.
